Daycare School Online is being built as a resource for people who want to start a daycare or who have a daycare. I started it because I want more Mother’s home with their children and more daycare centers focusing in the children they care for. Running a daycare is more than just “watching” children. Children need nurturing in their young lives, they need stability, education, nutrition and love.

Daycare School was developed in April 2009. That’s really not that long ago so just give us time. It started as kind of a project at night. I started finding I had more and more to say on the subject and “viola” Daycare School Online was born.

I haven’t always been a daycare provider, I’ve actually had my oldest in many daycares when she was younger. I couldn’t stand paying someone money to “watch” my children. This was my precious baby and she was only a weekly amount to them. A mother should be the one who nurtures and educates her children through their young lives. I also understand that its not feasibly possible for some people. Some Mothers just can’t handle being home with their kids but for those of you who really, really want to….you came to the right place. I’ve been there and I know. At my daycare I have four children, two of my own. Samantha is 7 and she’s my oldest, Mommy’s super helper. Then there’s the youngest, Jeremy, he’s 2 and all boy! The other two children are 4 months (it’s now May 2009) and the other is going to be 2 years in August. During the day Samantha goes to school so it’s just me and the boys. We have a good time too. We learn sign language, sing worship, have circle time, eat, nap and play all day. What’s great about this group is Jeremy (my two year old) and Collin (who is almost two) get along like brothers. It’s nice having two around the same age. The infant Caleb is my handsome little man. I love having an infant but you have to remember that infants are hard work and need a lot of love and attention so don’t take on too many babies at once. You want to make sure every child’s needs are met and you do this by carefully selecting your “pay load.” Don’t bite off more than you can chew…ha ha

Being a home daycare provider has made me a better mother. Had I just stayed home with my kids I don’t know if they would be getting as much social interaction as they need. Staying home with them and not running a daycare was never an option though because of our financial needs. I’m glad it worked out this way. All I knew in my heart was I wanted to be home with my kids, God led me through the path I’ve taken and it has been magnificent. I get to be with my kids and see the shining faces of two others. I love kids. I have always been a kid person even before I had my own. I always baby sat one of my 43 cousins growing up….yah, 43! I always had kids around me so being patient with them just comes naturally to me I suppose. God has put a love that only he can in my heart when it comes to children. Maybe it’s the same love he has for his children? I can’t imagine the depth of God’s love but I know that it’s in me and it shines through to all my children, even the ones I care for.

Book recounts RV journey across America

Many Americans dream of taking the great American road trip once the children are out of the house and the career is finally finished.

Glenn Maynard, however, decided to take the opposite approach.

“The common thought is to wait to retire and go RVing,” the Wethersfield resident said.

Maynard and his ex-wife, Tracy (whose maiden name is Wishneski), however decided — “before the mortgage and the kids — let’s get that out of the way first.”

So in 1992, a week after their wedding, the two took off in a renovated 1978 Dodge Rockwood and spent a year on the road, visiting the 48 contiguous states and parts of Mexico and Canada.

Now Maynard’s experiences from that trip, which were originally written out on legal pads, have recently been published by Strategic Book Publishing under the name “Strapped into an American Dream.”

The trip consisted of 35,000 miles worth of amazing experiences as they traveled everywhere from the grandest of national parks in southern Utah to a Wyoming town with a population of six that urged visitors to “drive at a reasonable speed.”

Along the way they were shaken by earthquakes, saw twisters in Illinois, were nearly toppled by the wind on the Colorado plains (after finally leaving Kansas) and drove miles through the woods to reach a free campground in Maine where they met a man with a dog named Molly — the same as their Miniature Schnauzer.

Although they saved the money from their wedding and were fortunate that their cars sold when they were on the road, the couple were forced to work for a time in an Arizona factory after nearly running out of cash.

The two also met an amazing cast of characters including gypsies and people who had UFO and Bigfoot stories.

“Small town America was unbelievable,” Maynard said.

At the time of the trip, Maynard recounted some of those experiences by sending accounts along the way to local newspapers, including the Glastonbury Citizen and Bristol Press.

Maynard, who has a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of Connecticut, grew up in Glastonbury but Colorado proved so alluring the couple lived in the Denver area for four years. After his divorce, Maynard moved back to Connecticut and has been in Wethersfield since 2001.

He said that after the trip, he typed his stories into a word processor and the book was essentially finished before he moved back to Connecticut. After the divorce, he rewrote the book slightly, taking out some of the honeymoon language but he said the book is 100 percent factual.

Along the way he had to retype it again into a computer and then came the long process of trying to sell it. He said he nearly gave up but Strategic took on the project and published the book in February. Maynard said he hopes to get the title into local stores — which is proving more difficult than he expected. For now it is available online through sites such as Amazon.com.

Maynard is also finishing a work of fiction. While he hopes to eventually write full-time, he is enjoying his job as a business analyst for United Healthcare.

The shocking news about the obesity problems in the world are a
big problem to health and the heath care system. The soaring
rate of childhood obesity is at all time high levels and this
leads to health issues arising in children who should not have
some of the aging diseases. Some think they can find a quick fix
a fast weight loss diet that will allow them to lose the pounds
for a better body and better health. However, these hardly ever
work. The body simply can not survive on these fast weight loss
plans and remain very long and remain healthy. Normally once

The fast weight loss diet often works, but only for a short
time and could be great for someone who needs to lose a few
pounds to fit into an outfit. However, beware that the pounds
may come back on when you start eating normally again. The best
weight loss endeavor is one that lasts a lifetime and not just a
quick fix. It took time to put the weight on and it will take
time to take the weight off.
 
Most experts agree that going back to old eating habits is why
so many fail in the end. So it is the best solution to change
your life style rather than looking for the quick fix when it
comes to losing weight.
 
If you take on a fast weight loss diet, make sure you monitor
your health closely, and make sure you learn from the foods that
you are eating. You should learn from the diet so that you know
what to eat once you are off of it. Though some have been
successful with weight loss that offer prepackaged meals, they
usually fail to keep the weight off. The reason is because they
don’t know how to grocery shop or cook for themselves when they
stop buying the prepared meals. This is why you should choose a
healthy weight loss plan that allows you to learn good healthy
eating habits as you go along and maybe not the fast weight loss
diet that shows results quickly.
 
Sometimes, people think that the fast weight loss diet works
because they lose a lot of pounds in the first week. What they
don’t understand is that most of that weight is usually water
weight. It’s good, but it’s not true fat. The majority of the
time, people can not lose more than one or two pounds of true
fat a week. However, if you find one of the fast weight loss
plans is working for you, and your doctor sees no ill effects on
your health, you can continue. Just remember that you should
develop good healthy eating habits and adapt them into your life
style so long after you have stopped losing you can maintain
your new slimmer figure.
