Oh my gosh, today was one of those bad eating days and in my mind I’m counting the calories. How many were in that fudgecicle? Plus, I had a little extra chili today at lunch. Oh and don’t forget that piece of chocolate…or two. Then I wreak havoc on my brain, talking to myself and saying calories in vs. calories out. Eating all of these extras without burning them off isn’t the fastest healthiest way to lose weight. This won’t get me to my goal. And then once again I’ve given in to “the diet mind game” and forgot to love me through the fall off the wagon. I think we’ve all been there. We are all looking for the fastest healthiest way to lose weight and when we have a rough day we beat ourselves and cover ourselves with a blanket of guilt. Well you know, sometimes we just have to say no to that mind game and just love ourselves through a bad day. How we treat ourselves emotionally when we diet is another piece of the puzzle that’s a part of the fastest healthiest way to lose weight.
See how we feel about ourselves when we diet and how we treat ourselves when we stumble applies to healthy weight loss too. Although we wouldn’t normally think about it like that. But no matter what the new person looks like it’s still me. God didn’t make a mistake and I’m somebody special.” You truly need to be okay with you. Doing so means that you won’t take any drastic unhealthy measures to lose weight. Plus you’ll avoid the guilt and anxiety and off day can bring. That allows you to get back up on the horse to get started the next day and help keep you on the path to achieving your goals.
The other part to consider is what happens when the fastest healthiest way to lose weight got you at your perfect fitness and now you are in your maintenance mode.
Another piece of the puzzle is a belief in the idea that you can lose weight. If you’ve had a less successful nutrition day than what your diet plan calls for, chances are that if you beaten yourself up for slippin’, you’ve also questioned your ability to even reach your goal.
