Your wedding day is the one day you can’t have ”bad hair”.  You are the main attraction at this event and your look has to be bang on.   For this reason, many future brides start considering their wedding hair and make up early on in their wedding planning.  We all know that certain faces work best with certain styles and hair lengths often determine  how the bridal hairstyle will work; but, let’s take a look at what you can do with your hair, whether it’s long, medium length or short to ensure you will look your best on your wedding day…

  • Short Hair – Short hair is trendy, cool, and edgy.  Styled the right way, it can even look like a faux updo.  Cut in layers, it can offer volume where needed and lots of texture to your style.  Since short hair is often a design in itself, it can be worn with or without accessories.  Should you decide to accessorize your short hair style, do so with simple adornments.  Don’t complicate the look;  let your hairstyle speak for itself and through it, your personality will shine…

  • Medium Hair – Shoulder length hair (medium) is a classic length worn by  many women.  It is a length that flatters many faces and is very versatile, allowing the hair to be put in an elegant updo or to be left down in a sexy, carefree style.  Fresh flowers and other accessories allow the bride the option to dress up her style further…

  • Long Hair – With long hair, you have the option of wearing it up or down, curly or straight, with accessories or without.  Bar none, it is the hair length with the most options; however, beware not to overdo a good thing.  If you are hoping for an updo and you are brunette, make sure your style isn’t too stiff or you’ll come out looking far too severe.  Blondes can opt for a  tighter updo, as the hair colour (especially if highlighted) diffuses the stiffness of the style.  Also, beware the size and colour of your accessories.  Again, brunettes need to consider the brightness of their adornments.  Anything too white and large will really stand out against dark hair.  The accessories are meant to compliment not take over the look.  Also, regardless of your hair colour, if you want to have flowers in your hair, use fresh not fake.  If fresh is out of the question, use small fake flowers as the larger ones tend to look tacky.  Another thing to consider when deciding how to wear your long locks for your wedding is your dress itself.  If you are wearing a strapless number or something similar (lots of skin showing), you can wear your hair down in beautiful, sexy, waves.  Couple that with a long veil and you will really rock your look!  If, however, your dress is more demure, an updo or half up do will work much better.  Otherwise between the dress and the hair, no one will actually see you!!!!

  • Beach Hair - For those lucky ladies jetting away to a tropical destination to “seal the deal”, don’t forget that beach weddings have their own set of rules when it comes to fashion.  By virtue of being on a beach, your look should reflect the whole ocean vibe.  Soft, carefree, and sexy are the words to live by here.  Your hair like your dress should be simple, not stiff, sexy, not severe.  One simple fresh flower on the side of the head is all that is required for hair accessories.   Don’t forget that hair needs sunscreen too!!!!!  Enjoy.
